Aprilia Tuareg Rally 660 Gets A New Design And More Upgrades: Showcased At EICMA 2024
With a victory at the 2023 Africa Eco Race, Aprilia's Tuareg 660 solidified its place in the adventure bike game. The success story was created by riders like Chris Birch, Pol Tarres, and Jacopo Cerutti.
Recognizing a growing demand in ADV motorcycles, Aprilia is set to roll out a rugged Rally version of the Tuareg 660 in 2025, designed not just for pros but for everyday thrill-seekers craving a serious upgrade.
Key Upgrades on the Rally Version
The 2025 Aprilia Tuareg 660 Rally comes with a host of enhancements that put it above the standard model, targeting durability, protection, and off-road capability. Here's what's new:
Protective Additions: A high fender, robust skid plate, hand guards, and a chain guide all amp up the bike's defenses for more challenging terrain.
Ergonomic Tweaks: With a seat height increase of 0.8 inches (20mm) and a raised handlebar, the Rally offers improved rider comfort on rough roads.
Lighter Wheels: The new tube-type, Ergal-crafted wheels are narrower and engineered for strength, cutting weight without sacrificing durability.
Performance Exhaust and Suspension: The Rally sports an SC Project exhaust with a titanium silencer for weight reduction and a distinct sound. The upgraded Kayaba suspension sticks to 9.4 inches of travel but swaps progressive springs for standard rate springs, offering better response in technical riding.
Surprisingly, the Rally manages to be around 5kgs lighter than the standard Tuareg, weighing in at just under 200kgs. These upgrades enhance both the bike's performance and style, making it a stand-out choice for adventure.
Fresh Looks and Improved Compliance for 2025
Alongside the Rally-specific features, the entire Tuareg lineup gets a refresh for 2025. Aprilia is rolling out two new color options-Tornado Green and Hailstorm White-to give the bikes a unique visual appeal.
But the upgrades aren't just skin-deep; Aprilia's made sure the bikes meet Euro 5+ standards, adding new 52 mm throttle bodies (up from 48 mm) and a redesigned stator to reduce inertia.
