Ather Energy Achieves Record Electric Scooter Sales Of 20,000 Units In October 2024
In the lead-up to Diwali, vehicle sales in India typically see a boost, and this year is no exception. Ather Energy, an Indian electric scooter manufacturer, has reported significant sales growth for October 2024. The company sold approximately 20,000 electric scooters, marking its highest monthly sales ever. This surge suggests that many Indians might be using their Diwali bonuses to purchase new vehicles.
In September, Ather Energy also experienced a rise in sales, with 12,828 units sold. The demand for their products continues to grow, as evidenced by over 7,000 new customers in October alone. This trend highlights the increasing popularity of Ather Energy's offerings in the Indian market.
The company's best-selling model is the Rizta electric scooter, which accounts for more than 60% of total sales. Designed for families, Riztha competes with popular models like the Honda Activa. Its success in October indicates strong performance in this competitive segment.
Rizta comes in two battery options: a 2.9 kWh pack offering a range of 123 km and a 3.7 kWh pack providing a range of 159 km on a full charge. The scooter is available in variants such as Rizta S (2.9 kWh), Rizta Z (2.9 kWh), and Rizta Z (3.7 kWh).
The Rizta electric scooter is equipped with a PMS electric motor that reaches a top speed of 80 km/h and accelerates from 0 to 40 km/h in just 3.7 seconds. As a family-oriented vehicle, it includes features like ample storage space and comfortable seating, making it easy for women and the elderly to use.
Ather Energy's manufacturing facility is located in Hosur, Tamil Nadu. The company's recent sales figures reflect the growing acceptance of electric two-wheelers in India. It is anticipated that demand for Ather Energy's products will remain strong in the future.
