EICMA 2024: Ducati Panigale V2 Revealed - The Lightest-Ever Panigale Twin
Italian motorcycle manufacturer Ducati has revealed the new Panigale V2 at the EICMA motorcycle show in Milan. The new Ducati Panigale V2 is the lightest-ever twin-cylinder version of the fared Italian superbike, coming in at just 179 kg (176 for the V2S).
The lighter Panigale V2 has also seen a change in its heart. Gone is the old 955cc powerplant as the engineers at Ducati too have had to bow down to stricter emission norms and downsize to a smaller capacity engine.

The old motor has made way for the new 890cc Superquadro 90-degree V-twin engine that puts out 118bhp at 10,750rpm and 93.3Nm of peak torque at 8,250rpm. The engine is paired with a 6-speed gearbox with straight-cut gears along with a slipper clutch and an up-and-down quickshifter.
The new Ducati Panigale V2 and V2S feature a new aluminium monocoque frame that weighs in at just 4 kilogrammes. The Panigale V2 features a fully adjustable suspension setup with a Marzocchi 43mm USD fork at the front along with a Kayaba monoshock and a double-sided aluminium swingarm at the rear.

The Panigale V2S, on the other hand, switches to an Ohlins NIX30 43mm USD front fork along with an Ohlins monoshock at the rear with the same aluminium double-sided swingarm. Like the regular V2, the suspension setup on the V2S is fully adjustable and offers 120mm and 150mm (front and rear) wheel travel.
Both the V2 and V2S versions of the new Panigale feature twin 320mm disc brakes at the front that are clamped down by radially mounted Brembo Monoblock M50 callipers. The braking at the rear is done by a 245mm disc brake clamped down by 2-piston callipers. The brakes are aided by Bosch dual-channel cornering ABS that can fully disengage the rear when needed.

The new Ducati Panigale V2 and V2S ride on new Y-shaped, six-spoke lightweight alloy wheels that are draped in Pirelli Diablo Rosso IV tyres - 120/70 ZR17 (front) and 190/55 ZR17 (rear).
The new Panigale V2 sports a brand-new 5-inch TFT display that allows access to all the electronic aids that have been stuffed into the newest version of the twin-cylinder faired superbike. The dash features three display modes - Road, Road Pro and Track.

There are four riding modes on offer from a full-fat Race mode to a Rain mode that cuts down the power levels quite significantly. There are also more electronic aids on offer including traction control, wheelie control, engine brake control, cruise control, lap timer and turn-by-turn navigation.
