Honda Activa Electric Teased Again - Motor Revealed
Japanese two-wheeler manufacturer Honda has dropped the second teaser for the upcoming Activa Electric, ahead of its debut on the 27th of November.
The latest teaser gives us another glimpse at the Activa Electric's headlight but more significantly gives us our first-ever look at the electric motor unit that will power this eco-friendly version of India's most popular scooter.
The teaser video shows the motor unit in its casing placed next to the rear wheel of the upcoming Honda Activa Electric, suggesting that we may well be dealing with a hub motor here. This does play into reports that have suggested that the electric scooter could have performance rivalling its Activa 110 ICE sibling.
The motor casing also features what appears to be a suspension mount up top, suggesting that the Activa Electric could be carrying over the monoshock setup of its petrol-powered sibling.
The teaser video for the upcoming Activa Electric also gives us a first glimpse at the single-piece seat. The silhouette of the seat shows off the familiar slightly raised pillion section.
The teaser also gives us a second glimpse at the upcoming Activa Electric's headlight. While the first teaser showed off the LED unit in all its glory, the new teaser shows it switched off and gives away the angular shape of the headlight at the tip of the apron on the upcoming electric scooter from Honda.
The Honda Activa Electric or Activa e, will be the Japanese firm's ever scooter for the Indian market. The new scooter is expected to rival the likes of the Bajaj Chetak and the TVS iQube and could feature swappable battery packs with a range of around 100km on a charge when it is revealed on the 27th of November.
Activa Electric is expected to follow in the footsteps of its ICE siblings by providing intelligent features like turn-by-turn navigation that gets you to the nearest swapping/ charging station among other convenience-enhancing features.
