Royal Enfield Classic 650 Twin: Top 5 Highlights

Royal Enfield has unveiled the Classic 650 Twin, which shares many features with the Shotgun 650. This upcoming Royal Enfield Classic 650 is among the most awaited motorcycles in the country.

Design

The Royal Enfield Classic 650 resembles the Classic 350 in design. In fact, the model could be mistaken for the Classic 350 if not for the double exhaust and different colour schemes. That being said, the RE Classic 650 does recreate the vintage look very well and we expect this model to do pretty well in the UK.

Features

The RE Classic 650 Twin is equipped with a digi-analogue display similar to its smaller counterpart, featuring a gear position indicator. It also includes the Tripper navigation pod as standard. Adjustable brake and clutch levers are factory-fitted, enhancing rider comfort and control.

Dimensions

Weighing in at 243kg, the RE Classic 650 is the heaviest in Royal Enfield's lineup. It boasts a large 14.8-litre fuel tank, second only to the Super Meteor among RE 650s. The seat height is set at 800mm, while ground clearance measures 154mm.

Specifications & Other Details

The 650cc parallel twin engine in the RE Classic 650 is tuned to produce 47hp at 7,250rpm and 52.3Nm of torque at 5,650rpm. It comes with a 6-speed gearbox and a slip-and-assist clutch.

The Classic 650 Twin shares its main frame, brakes, twin shock absorbers, and swingarm with the Shotgun 650. However, it features different wheels: wire-spoke wheels measuring 19 inches at the front and 18 inches at the rear. The bike uses MRF Nylohigh tyres sized at 100/90-19 for the front and 140/70-R18 for the rear.

The suspension travel remains consistent with the Shotgun model, offering 120mm at the front and 90mm at the rear. This ensures a comfortable ride across various terrains while maintaining stability and control.

Colour Options and Upcoming Launch

The Classic 650 Twin is available in four colours: Vallam Red, Bruntingthorpe Blue, Teal, and Black Chrome. Notably, Teal and Black Chrome were previously offered on original UCE Classic models, adding a touch of nostalgia to this new release.

Royal Enfield plans to showcase this model at its MotoVerse biking festival later this month. An official launch in India is anticipated for February 2025.

This latest addition to Royal Enfield's lineup combines classic styling with modern features. Its robust engine performance paired with thoughtful design elements makes it an appealing choice for motorcycle enthusiasts.
