Ola Diamondhead Showcased : 0-100 km/h in 2 Seconds, ₹5 Lakh Target Price for 2027

Bangalore-based EV firm Ola Electric showcased its Diamondhead electric motorcycle prototype at its Sankalp 2025 event on Independence Day, revealing more details about a bike it claims will change the superbike world.

Ola claims that the Diamonhead electric motorcycle will do the 0 to 100 km/h sprint in an incredible two seconds. Ola has set a production timeline for mid-2027 for the Diamondhead and claims to be targeting an ex-showroom price of ₹5 lakh.

Ola plans to build the Diamondhead using lightweight metals and composites like space-grade aluminium, carbon fibre, and magnesium.. These materials will help keep the weight of the Diamondhead down while improving rigidity, both of which are critical for a superbike.

In terms of its design, the Ola Diamondhead stands out with a diamond-shaped nose, which is also the reason for its unique nameplate. Visually, the prototype retains cues from early sketches. A long LED bar dominates the face. Clip-on handlebars, bar-end mirrors, and sharp tail sections add to the aggressive look. The Ola Diamondhead rides on 17-inch alloy wheels.

On the technology front, the Ola Diamondhead packs a hub-centre steering setup and active braking systems. Ola also highlighted adaptive cruise control and traction control. Advanced rider-assist systems, usually seen in premium motorcycles, are also part of the Diamondhead package.

The Diamondhead prototype features what Ola calls "active ergonomics." This system automatically adjusts the handlebars and footpegs depending on riding conditions. The setup allows a relaxed position for commuting and switches to a sportier stance when higher performance is demanded by the rider.

Ola is developing connected accessories to complement the Diamondhead motorcycle. These include a Smart AR helmet and wearable tech designed to link with the bike. The accessories are aimed at boosting safety and giving riders additional awareness through real-time connected features.

Power comes a mid mounted-motor connected to Ola's Bharat Cell 4680 battery pack. The battery is still under development but promises performance improvements, charging times, and range. Ola says the final unit will be tuned for the demands of the Diamondhead before production begins.

DriveSpark Thinks

The Ola Diamondhead has always been the attention grabber since it was announced alongside Ola's lineup of motorcycles. Ola confirming that Diamond production is set for mid-2027 with a targeted ex-showroom price of ₹5 lakh, it sure looks like the firm is going after Ultraviolette's F77 lineup with what will be its flagship motorcycle.
