Ola S1 Gen 3 Lineup Launched At Rs 79,999 - New Flagship S1 Pro+ Arrives With Astonishing Range
Bangalore-based electric vehicle manufacturer Ola Electric today has launched its all-new Gen 3 lineup of S1 electric scooters. Prices for the Gen 3 lineup start at Rs 79,999 for the base Ola S1 X (2kW) and go up to Rs 1,69,999 for the new flagship S1 Pro+ with the 5.3kWh battery pack (all prices are introductory).
All the new Ola S1 Gen 3 electric scooters get a host of upgrades including mid-mounted motors for all scooters,chain drive, ABS, Move OS 5 (coming next month), brake-by-wire, and more ergonomic seats along with big increases in terms of range and power.
The Ola S1 Pro+ is the new flagship scooter from Ola's S1 Gen 3 lineup and it sits above the previous Ola S1 Pro. Offered with two battery pack options - 4kWh (1,54,999) and the all-new 5.3kWh battery pack (Rs 169,999) with in-house developed 4680 Bharat cells.
Ola Electric claims that S1 Pro+ delivers a peak power output of 17.43bhp (13kW) from its mid-mounted motor. This allows the S1 Pro+ to go from 0-40km/h in a claimed 2.1 seconds and onwards to a top speed of 142km/h. Ola claims that the 5.3Kwh battery pack delivers a range of 320km (IDC) on a single charge, the most from any electric scooter currently on sale in India.
The Ola S1 Pro now sits as the entry point into the Pro lineup of the firm's Gen 3 scooters. It is now offered with two battery packs - 3kWh (Rs 114,999) and 4kWh (Rs 134,999). Peak power is now 14.75bhp (11kW) and the range has risen to 242km (IDC) on a single charge. The 0-40km/h sprint takes 2.7 seconds and the top speed is a claimed 125km/h.
Underneath the S1 Pro sits the updated S1 X+. Offered in only 4kWh guise (Rs 1,07,999), the X+ now gets a disc brake at the front, a segmented colour LCD for the instrumentation and the same performance as the top-spec S1 Pro. The claimed range is 242km (IDC), peak power is now rated at 14.75bhp (11kW) and the 0-40km/h sprint time and the top speed are the same as the S1 Pro.
The new Gen 3 lineup starts with the new S1 X. Offered in three guises 2kWh (Rs 79,999), 3kWh (Rs 89,999) and 4kWh (Rs 99,999), the S1 X gets features like brake-by-wire, segmented colour LCD screen, chain drive and new decals. The top-spec S1 X - 4kWh - can sprint from 0-40km/h in just 3 seconds and can hit a top speed of 123km/h thanks to a mid-mounted motor with a peak power output of 9.38bhp (7kW). The S1 X delivers a maximum range of 242km (IDC) on a single charge.
