TVS Orbiter Electric Scooter Launched At ₹99,900 - 158 km Range & Cruise Control
Indian two-wheeler manufacturer TVS Motor Company has launched the Orbiter electric scooter. Prices for the TVS Orbiter start at ₹ 99,900 (ex-showroom).
The Orbiter is the third lineup of electric scooters from TVS after the iQube and the flagship TVS X. The TVS Orbiter is the firm's most affordable electric scooter, and bookings for the new electric scooter are now open on TVS' website and its showrooms across the nation.
The TVS Orbiter delivers a claimed IDC range of 158 km on a single charge of its 3.1kWh battery pack. TVS hasn't revealed the details about the motor connected to the battery pack, but it claims that the big range is thanks to the aerodynamic design of the Orbiter and the fact that it is fitted with low-resistance tyres.
Design-wise, the Orbiter features a clean and minimal silhouette. It sports a high-mounted headlamp cluster with LED DRLs integrated into the front apron. Buyers can choose from six dual-tone colour options, giving it a fresh, youthful appearance on the road.
The Orbiter sports a flat 845mm long seat that ensures a comfortable riding position for both rider and pillion. The new TVS Orbiter rides on 14-inch wheels and offers 165 mm of ground clearance. Under the seat, there is 34 litres of storage space, enough for two helmets and your daily essentials.
The Orbiter is equipped with a fully digital multi-colour LCD instrument console. The display supports Bluetooth connectivity, turn-by-turn navigation, theft alerts, geo and time fencing and over-the-air software updates. The Orbiter electric scooter offers several segment-first features, including cruise control, a reverse parking function and hill-hold assist.
The TVS Orbiter is offered in six dual-tone colourways - Neon Sunburst, Stratos Blue, Lunar Grey, Stellar Silver, Cosmic Titanium, and Martian Copper. The TVS Orbiter will rival entry-level variants of the Bajaj Chetak, Vida VX2 and Ola S1 range. It promises comparable performance and range while undercutting many of its competitors on price.
