BMW Motorrad To Launch F 450 GS In H1 2026 - Report
BMW Motorrad plans to launch an all-new 450cc twin-cylinder motorcycle in India in the first half of 2026, aiming to strengthen its mid-capacity portfolio and broaden appeal to aspirational riders..
The new 450cc twin-cylinder model forms part of BMW Group India's strategy to accelerate growth in the premium motorcycle market, following modest results with its existing 310cc range and expanding product activity planned for the year ahead.
BMW Motorrad's upcoming entry is expected to anchor a new mid-capacity platform and act as a key volume driver, supporting the company's aim to sustain double-digit expansion in sales across its India operations throughout 2026.
Speak to Autocar Professional, Hardeep Singh Brar, President and CEO of BMW Group India, confirmed that the firm's new twin-cylinder F 450 GS motorcycle will arrive "during the course of the year, in the first half".
The new BMW F 450 GS, will be the successor to the outgoing G 310 GS and other 300-plus singles in the firm's lineup and will act as the new gateway to the BMW Motorrad lineup worldwide.
The BMW F 450 GS is powered by an all-new 420cc parallel-twin engine, producing 48hp and 43Nm of torque. The F 450 GS's new engine will come paired to a 6-speed gearbox, and the adventure bike will feature a lightweight chassis and long-travel suspension catered to dual-sport riding requirements.
BMW's new platform is intended to offer a balance of agility and everyday usability, with the twin-cylinder unit developed to appeal to riders seeking enhanced performance and broader touring capability compared with the single-cylinder counterparts in the segment.
The forthcoming 450cc model is also expected to play a central role in BMW Motorrad's broader India product roadmap, and also forms the basis of the plans for TVS, which will be basing a few of its Norton bikes on the new 450 platform as well as an expected supersport model that is expected to be the most powerful Apache to date
