Ducati Desmo 450 MX Coming To India – New Motocross Bike With 64 HP
Ducati is set to launch the Desmo 450 MX in India by this month, and the brand has already teased the upcoming off-road-focused motorcycle. This will be Ducati's first production motocross bike for the global market, derived from the championship-winning Ducati Motocross team machine, marking the Italian brand's entry into the competitive off-road racing segment.
Ducati Set to Bring Desmo 450 MX
The Desmo 450 MX is a non-street-legal motorcycle designed exclusively for motocross circuit racing. As a result, it features a minimal & functional design but comes equipped with high-performance components and a lightweight chassis. The bike features a typical high-mounted front fender, a single-piece flat seat, and a compact fuel tank, common design elements found in motocross motorcycles.

Engine Details
It is powered by a 450cc single-cylinder engine featuring titanium intake valves and a four-valve setup, producing 64 hp of power at 9,400 rpm and 53.5 Nm of torque at 7,500 rpm. The Desmo frame is developed using a lightweight aluminium frame and subframe, helping deliver excellent control and handling on challenging motocross tracks.
Electronics
In terms of technology, the bike gets quick shifter support and two standard riding modes. Riders can also access advanced settings through the Ducati X-Link App, allowing them to configure throttle response, Ducati Traction Control, engine brake control, and launch control.

Safety & Components
For suspension and braking, the motorcycle is equipped with 49 mm USD forks with 310 mm travel at the front, while the rear has a cast swingarm with a mono-shock offering 301 mm travel. Braking duties are handled by a Brembo braking system with a 260 mm front disc and a 240 mm rear disc.
Other expectations
Other highlights include advanced electronics with Ducati Traction Control. For off-road performance, the bike features 21-inch front and 19-inch rear enduro tyres mounted on spoke wheels, ensuring maximum grip and stability on rough terrain.
This off-road-focused motorcycle will be sold exclusively for racing and circuit purposes. Hence, the Ducati Desmo 450 MX is expected to be priced at around ₹12 lakh (ex-showroom) in India. This Bike is expected to be launched by late March 2026.
