KTM 990 RC R Track Revealed - The Hardcore Track-Only Orange Maniac
KTM has revealed the 990 RC R Track, a track-only version of its new 2026 990 RC R supersport that strips away road-legal equipment and adds race-focused hardware along with MotoGP-inspired aero to help it dominate the circuits.
The KTM 990 RC R Track is not homologated for public roads and is designed exclusively for track riding. Deliveries of the 990 RC R Track will start in April.

KTM 990 RC R Track - All You Need To Know
Powering the 990 RC R Track is a 947cc liquid-cooled parallel-twin LC8c engine producing 135hp and 105Nm of peak torque. This represents an increase of 5hp and 2Nm over the standard 990 RC R, which produces 130hp and 103Nm of peak torque.

KTM has paired the 990 RC R Track's engine with a racing gearbox featuring revised ratios, including a longer first gear and shorter sixth gear, to better suit track conditions. The track-only bike also uses an Akrapovič Evolution Line exhaust system designed to reduce weight and enhance performance, which tips the scales at only three kilos.
To improve its performance on the track, KTM has removed equipment such as headlights, mirrors, indicators and the side stand that are not required for track use. Additional weight savings for the KTM 990 RC R Track come from a more compact electronics package, which helps save two kilos off the kerb weight.

Fully adjustable WP APEX components configured for track riding handle suspension duties at both ends. Braking hardware includes Brembo Hypure callipers paired with a 320mm front disc and a 240mm rear disc. The KTM 990 RC R Track is also equipped with Michelin Power Slick tyres.
The KTM 990 RC R Track features a suite of adjustable electronic rider aids tailored for racing. Riders can select from three customisable Track modes that allow tuning of throttle response, traction control, wheel slip, anti-wheelie, launch control and engine-brake settings. Other features include a bi-directional quickshifter, pit limiter and a 4.2-inch colour TFT display.
