TVS Teases Major Upgrade For Its Apache 4V Motorcycle Range
One of the leading Indian two-wheeler manufacturers, TVS Motor Company, is set to introduce projector LED headlamps across its entire Apache lineup. A recent social media teaser shows that the projector headlamps could be offered as standard across all variants, including base trims.
TVS Releases New Teaser
The teaser opens with a MotoGP-style racing sequence featuring the TVS Apache RR 310. Then the TVS Apache RTR 160 4V and TVS Apache RTR 200 4V make their entry with illuminated projector LED headlamps. This strongly suggests that TVS is planning to offer projector LED across its entire Apache 4V series.
The new projector LED headlamps are sharper, more premium, and more aggressive, perfectly blending with the sporty character of the Apache 4V series. This setup was first introduced on the Apache anniversary edition models. The Class D projector LEDs offer wider beam spread and improved night-time visibility compared to conventional LED setups.
When TVS debuted LED headlamps on the Apache 4V series, there were mixed opinions about the flat and sleek design of the LED headlight, particularly the eyebrow-style DRLs. TVS then revised the setup by repositioning the LED DRLs inside the headlamp unit. Now, the completely redesigned projector LED setup features LED light blades at the bottom, resulting in a more premium look and better illumination.
Making projector LED headlamps standard across variants makes the Apache 4V series more value-for-money. Some buyers feel that the projector LED design is similar to what's offered on rival bikes such as the Bajaj Pulsar N160 and N250. However, it is still a welcome upgrade for the Apache series, which faces big rivals such as the Bajaj Pulsar and Hero Motorcycles in the sports commuter segment.
With projector LED headlamps now expected to be standard, we also anticipate a price hike across the lineup. Currently, the Apache RTR 160 4V starts at ₹1,38,869 (ex-showroom), while the Apache RTR 200 4V starts at ₹1,41,990 (ex-showroom).
