TVS Patents Tangent RR Concept — Hints At New Apache RR 450 Launch

TVS has patented the Tangent RR concept in India, which could potentially become the upcoming RR 450 supersport motorcycle. The concept was first showcased at the EICMA 2025 event and now appears closer to evolving into a production-spec model.

TVS Motor Company is one of the fastest-growing Indian two-wheeler brands globally and regularly participates in major international events to showcase its future products. During EICMA 2025, the company unveiled several concepts, including the Tangent RR concept vehicle, which gained huge attention.

This aggressively styled supersport motorcycle features dual headlamps, sharp aerodynamic bodywork, and a sleek tail section. Inspired by racing motorcycles, the Tangent RR concept included a large sculpted fuel tank, clip-on handlebars, an underbelly exhaust, and a fully faired design typical of track-focused machines.

The safety and hardware setup includes USD front forks, a rear monoshock suspension, dual-channel ABS, and a lightweight chassis with a monocoque subframe designed to deliver strong balance, stability, and rider control.

New 450cc Platform

TVS and BMW Motorrad have jointly developed a new 450cc parallel-twin engine that is expected to power the upcoming BMW F 450 GS adventure motorcycle. Following that launch, TVS is likely to introduce the RR Tangent in production form, potentially as the Apache RR 450.

This new 450cc engine is expected to produce around 48 hp of power and 43 Nm of torque, paired with a 6-speed gearbox. The production model could also feature advanced rider aids such as cornering ABS, traction control, rear lift protection, wheelie control, a TFT display with connectivity, switch-mounted controls, a bi-directional quickshifter, turn-by-turn navigation, and multiple riding modes.

The Apache RR 450 is expected to rival supersport motorcycles such as the Aprilia RS 457, Kawasaki Ninja 500, Yamaha R3, and KTM RC 390. This new platform is likely to become TVS's flagship supersport offering, retaining the existing 310cc bike, which could be updated with the in-house developed 300cc engine used by the Apache RTX 300 Adventure.
