Hero Splendor iSmart With i3S Technology Launched, Price Announced
Hero MotoCorp's new Splendor iSmart has been launched. Announced for the first time late last year and showcased for the public at the Auto Expo 2014, the new Splendor iSmart is unlike any other Splendor model which have preceded it.

Hero Splendor iSmart comes with i3S technology, which stands for ‘Idle Stop and Start System'. That's exactly what it is. India's first motorcycle with start/stop feature; a feature more commonly seen in cars, enables the Splendor to be even more economical than before.

Hero Splendor iSmart is available in the following colours: Sports Red, Leaf Green, Excellent Blue and Heavy Grey

How i3S technology works
Seen commonly in cars, Hero's patent pending i3S tech kills the engine automatically during idling, for instance, when you are at a traffic signal. The engine comes back to life as soon as the clutch is pressed. The start/stop system can also be turned off with the flick of a switch.
Hero says it will bring the i3S technology to its other models in the future.
Engine
Powering the Hero Splendor iSMART a 100cc air-cooled, 4 Stroke Single Cylinder OHC engine that delivers maximum power of 7.8 PS at 7500 rpm and maximum torque of 8.04 Nm. The engine is mated to a 4 speed transmission.
