Yamaha YZF-R25 Launched In Indonesia - Features & Specifications

It's here. The Yamaha YZF-R25. The company's first 250cc R-Series motorcycle. First showcased as a concept last year during the Tokyo Motor Show, the production version of the Yamaha YZF-R25 has now been launched in Indonesia.

The motorcycle takes ample inspiration from its larger siblings, including the R1, the R6 and even the M1 MotoGP bike. In Indonesia, Yamaha has priced the YZF-R25 at 53 million Indonesian Rupiah (INR 2.71 lakh). Its launch in India is imminent before the end of the year.

The all new engine uses Yamaha's unique DiASil (Die casting Aluminum-Silicon) cylinders, which aids in superior heat dissipation and reduces weight. This is the first time Yamaha has used this technology in a 2-cylinder engine.

The engine is a 249cc, 2-cylinder, four stroke, liquid-cooled unit that produces an amazing 35 horsepower at 12000 rpm and 22.6 Nm of torque at 10,000 rpm. The engine is connected to a 6-speed transmission.

The bike gets a reverse-slant twin headlamp design, with an air duct in-between the lamps, similar to the YZR-M1. The shift indicator lamps on the other hand are reminiscent of the YZF-R1.

The bike has an mass-forward silhouette that complements its R-Series DNA. Yamaha says, the YZF-R25 is both sporty as well as practical to ride.

Yamaha has given its new 250cc motorcycle a lightweight construction and excellent centralization.
The bike weighs 166 kg and measure 2.09 m x 0.720 m x 1.135 m, with a seat height of 0.780 m.
The fuel tank can hold 14-litres of fuel.

This bike has one of the largest front suspension diameter in its class - 41mm inner tubes, which is only surpassed by the KTM RC 390's 43mm units. The rear swing arm has the same axle distance as the YZF-R1.

The brakes disc at the front measures 298mm and has dual pistons, while the rear gets a single piston 220 mm disc.
